1:1 and small group trainings are Criselda’s preferred method of teaching. This allows us to adjust as we go, to best suit the learning styles and needs of each student. After successfully training our two resident artists and now many visiting students, we have found this to be the most personalized and effective method. Many of us who are drawn to creative and meticulous work thrive best in an environment that understands the creative mind!
General Class outline-
Day 1- Theory: Intro to cosmetic tattoo and the Powder Brow technique, contraindications, color theory, understanding different needles and their applications, assessing skin types, choosing pigments, brow mapping and designing brow shapes to beautifully fit your client.
Practical: Students will begin fake skin practice and learn to use their machines.
Day 2- Theory: Breakdown of tattoo procedure, applying different tattoo techniques, correction methods and working with previously tattooed brows, choosing supplies, sanitary set up and breakdown, and tattoo aftercare.
*BONUS: nano stroke combo brow technique!
Practical: Students will apply skin practice toward brow building, and watch a live procedure demonstration by instructor.
Day 3- Model day- Students will continue practicing on fake skin as warm-up. Students will perform procedure on live model with the assistance of instructor, followed by some photography tips for best capturing your work.
Our 3-day tattoo trainings are typically broken up into days 1 and 2 consecutively, with day 3 scheduled a week or so out. This allows our students to gain practice and confidence using their homework assignments to prepare for live model day without feeling rushed.
Training includes:
- Travel bag, complete mapping supplies, tattoo machine, needles, pigments, practice and procedural supplies, and a comprehensive handbook including everything covered during our training, plus additional practice activities.
