Following your procedure, your artist will apply a thin layer of an antibacterial ointment to act as a barrier for your fresh tattoo. For your convenience, you will be provided with all necessary aftercare materials. Here is a general guide for what to expect, to help you prepare.

During your healing period, the key things to be mindful of are keeping your brows clean, dry, and undisturbed.

During days 2-10, your brows will enter a period of light scabbing and may or may not peel. The brows will appear both darker and thicker during this time- be assured that this is to be expected during the process and is not your final result- they will return to a softer color once scabbing is lifted and tattoo is healed. Wear a hat while in the sun, and do not wear makeup on or close to your brows until at least 14 days post appointment, if not longer.

It is imperative that the scabbing period runs its course without disturbance (no touching, scratching, picking) to avoid scarring and loss of pigment. Moisture on your brows during this period will cause the scabs to soften and slide off prematurely, which can cause loss of pigment and can open the skin up to infection. Because of this, you will need to be mindful when washing your hair and face to avoid submerging your brows. Avoid sweating, swimming, and saunas. Use makeup wipes and washcloths to cleanse your face, and use the shields provided in your aftercare kit to protect your brows in the shower.

When this phase is over, new, shiny healed skin will form over the tattoo making it appear much lighter. At about 4 weeks, the tattoo will re surface and the color will “bloom.” Yay! Any pigment that may have fallen out during healing will be replaced at your follow-up appointment, as well as adjustments to color. This takes place 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Be prepared to follow the same aftercare protocols for your touch-up as well.

We offer 3 methods of cosmetic brow tattoo to create the best results for your skin's unique needs.

*** Please note that if you have any previous brow tattoo, you must submit photos for approval before booking. Microblading is not suitable for cover-ups and corrective work, all of which must be done via powder brow technique.
We do not offer touch-up pricing for work done outside of BROWHAUS and all new clients are subject to new client/ corrective pricing. ***

Microblading is a manual form of cosmetic tattoo. In this technique, the pigment is implanted line by line, to create a hair stroke effect. All forms of cosmetic tattoo are considered permanent, however cosmetic tattoo pigments are formulated to fade softly over time. The average time between microblading touch ups is 1-3 years and in some cases, longer.

This technique is best for a minimal enhancement on the right candidate. If you are someone with the appropriate skin type to receive microblading and have a mostly full brow that you wish to perfect, this would be a suitable option. Those with large gaps in the brow or little to no hair may be better suited for a combination or powder brow to ensure an even looking density even where no natural hair is present. Typically, microblading alone will not replace makeup.

This technique is ideal for those with younger skin that is normal to dry. Microblading is not suitable for those with oily skin, enlarged pores in the area, mature/thin skin, and is not a suitable option for covering up old eyebrow tattoo. It is important to note that while many are fond of the hair like effect microblading achieves, natural looking results are possible with each type of technique we offer, and choosing the right one for your needs is what will ultimately give you the best brows (with the best longevity) for your face.

Due to the nature of any type of tattoo, the fine lines created by microblading will naturally blur and expand over time. You will notice that we like to accommodate this by strategically placing the strokes so there is room to grow. When making your decision, please keep this fact in mind and know that it is important to let your microbladed brows fade by at least 50% before receiving additional touchups to prevent it looking “crowded.” Years down the line, many clients will be best suited to convert to a soft powder brow touchup.

MICROBLADING

Powder brow is a technique that is done by electric machine, using a super fine single needle to implant tiny dots and build a shaded effect. In this technique, there are no hair strokes, and because there are no strokes that will spread over time, this technique not only ages best, but it is suitable for all skin types. If you love a soft, airy front that is not harsh, this is the best technique for achieving that.

This technique is extremely customizable! Because the brow is made up by fine shading, we are able to skillfully control how densely or how loosely the pigment is placed throughout the entire brow. So, if you like a softer outline with a light wash of color for a more natural or  “tinted” effect, we can do that! If you prefer a tighter outline with more saturated color throughout, we can do that, as well as any other preferences in between.

This is not the dreaded sharpie brow, and while the results may look very bold for the first few days, they will heal to a soft and “powdery” finish leaving you with perfectly sculpted brows that in most cases don’t need a touchup for 3-5 years! This service is our most popular and most loved due to it's customizable nature, and its tendency to age the most desirably with little need for intervention down the line.

POWDER BROW

Combination brow is a hybrid of both microblading strokes and machine shading. This technique is popular for the way that it creates hair like strokes with the added density from shading, especially in an ombre effect. It is also suitable for almost all skin types, however, keep in mind that the microblading strokes are still prone to blur over time and will be likely adjusted to shading touch ups down the line.

This technique can be done on oily skin, with the client knowledge that the microblading strokes are still more prone to fading and expanding in said skin type. However, with the added reinforcement of machine shading, the overall brow shape will still be in tact. If you are in between which service to get, Combination brows are typically a safe bet and are very loved by our clients.

COMBO BROW

Corrective work is an advanced type of cosmetic tattoo process that is more than just a ‘cover-up’ All clients with previous work must submit photos through our consultation form before booking online. Because each case is unique, each client must be guided with a unique game plan.

Corrective services involve advanced techniques, such as color correcting and supressing old, unwanted tones, reshaping and rebalancing previous shaping, and in some cases using a technique called camouflaging to break up old stiff tattoo/microblading and/or conceal old pigment that extends past the new shape. When working with previous tattoo, expect that your new style options will be more limited than with a brand new set. The goal is improvement and it is important to proceed with realistic expectations.

Every time a client undergoes any type of tattoo or removal procedure creates more skin integrity compromise. Above all else, skin integrity is the most important- which is why the goal with correction with advanced techniques is to create the best brow possible, and leave it alone with minimal adjustments/ touch ups in the future. Corrective work is only done through powder technique due to its consistency and lasting power. Microblading strokes (including combination technique) are not a suitable method for corrective work as the pigment is distributed unevenly (spaces between strokes) and causes further trauma to already compromised skin.

CORRECTIVE/PREVIOUS WORK

Lip blushing is a form of cosmetic tattoo used to enhance lip color, definition, and correct uneven/ dark toned lips. Check back for booking and availability in spring 2022!
