Beautiful results all start with the days before your appointment. We want your skin to be hydrated, to reduce bleeding and inflammation, and to be well prepared for healing.
- Avoid tanning beds for 30 days before your tattoo appointment. You may not receive PMU if you have a sunburn.
- Be well hydrated and drink plenty of water in the days leading to your appointment.
- Avoid alcohol the night before appointment & caffeine the day of. This helps prevent excess bleeding which can cause poor pigment retention in cosmetic tattoo.
- Avoid blood thinners, vitamin e and fish oil 72 hours before your appointment unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
- For Lip Blushing, exfoliate gently and apply aquaphor regularly in the week leading up to your appointment. Please take Valtrex as a preventative for the day before, day of, and after your procedure as it can trigger fever blisters or herpes flare up.
- For Eyeliner Tattoo, discontinue use of lash serums 6 weeks prior. Remove lash extensions atleast 3 days prior to your appointment. If you wear contact lenses, please do not wear them to your appointment or bring a case to transfer them to during procedure.
- For Waxing, please allow at least 3 weeks of growth (about the length of a grain of rice.) Exfoliate and moisturize for best results.
Additional tattoo tips:
- During your healing phase, you will be avoiding directly wetting your new cosmetic tattoo. Consider washing your hair the night before or the day of your appointment. Plan your appointment accordingly and be prepared to avoid sweating, swimming, and saunas during the initial healing.

Following your procedure, your artist will apply a thin layer of an antibacterial ointment to act as a barrier for your fresh tattoo. For your convenience, you will be provided with all necessary aftercare materials. Here is a general guide for what to expect, to help you prepare.
During your healing period, the key things to be mindful of are keeping your brows clean, dry, and undisturbed.
During days 2-10, your brows will enter a period of light scabbing and may or may not peel. The brows will appear both darker and thicker during this time- be assured that this is to be expected during the process and is not your final result- they will return to a softer color once scabbing is lifted and tattoo is healed. Wear a hat while in the sun, and do not wear makeup on or close to your brows until at least 14 days post appointment, if not longer.
It is imperative that the scabbing period runs its course without disturbance (no touching, scratching, picking) to avoid scarring and loss of pigment. Moisture on your brows during this period will cause the scabs to soften and slide off prematurely, which can cause loss of pigment and can open the skin up to infection. Because of this, you will need to be mindful when washing your hair and face to avoid submerging your brows. Avoid sweating, swimming, and saunas. Use makeup wipes and washcloths to cleanse your face, and use the shields provided in your aftercare kit to protect your brows in the shower.
When this phase is over, new, shiny healed skin will form over the tattoo making it appear much lighter. At about 4 weeks, the tattoo will re surface and the color will “bloom.” Yay! Any pigment that may have fallen out during healing will be replaced at your follow-up appointment, as well as adjustments to color. This takes place 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Be prepared to follow the same aftercare protocols for your touch-up as well.
